English 206: Introduction to Literature and Culture of the Enlightenment

“I think the Rare Book Room and ECCO projects were very fun and useful in understanding  more about the Enlightenment Era.  I especially liked the Rare Book Room visit because previously I had never been there and I don’t think a lot of students do, so it was a good experience.”

“Aleksondra did a great job making sure the class was involved in discussion.  I have had many classes where the teacher lectured the whole time, but this class gave me new insights of the topics, not only through Aleksondra, but through all of our peers.”

English 218: Introduction to Shakespeare

“I personally enjoyed the performances, not just because it allowed for more insight into the plays, but because each performance is preceded by discussion that places us in the proper context (historically) for each play.”

“She approaches the class in a very friendly and comfortable way.  She promotes open discussion and makes a clear effort to engage her students.”

English 102: Introduction to Drama

“I liked the commentary on the papers because then I know what to look for when writing my next one.  I learned how to write a proper these through this and brief meetings.”

“The exams were perfectly written and applied to what we learned.  The care taken in grading with comments really helped.”

English 109: Introduction to Fiction (Composition 2)

“She was really very pleasant and always made time to meet with students and she was easy to work things out with if problems arose.”

“Strengths: was knowledgeable of readings we did, strong teacher who never really fumbled over explanations and was able to explain difficult material well.  I learned how to read again.  I had been so far removed from it for so long.  I enjoy reading again.”

Rhetoric 105: Principles of Composition

“This entire course helped me, but most specifically, conferences and comments on my papers really helped me to improve my writing.”

“Paper grading was done fairly and accurately, and I felt like I could go to the instructor with questions if necessary.”

“She explained things precisely and clearly—I always knew what was expected of me.  She focused on things the class as a whole needed to work on and was always positive about teaching us.”
